dvdshrink....analysis v. deep analysis?

can anyone shed some light on the pros and cons of using analysis alone or using deep analysis...thanks in advance.

I can't blind you with the technicalities but suffice to say I've tried both on the same movie and there is a significant improvement using DA.
Put simply, DA is working harder than A and as a result improves the quality; it does exactly what it says on the tin.

I assume that DVDShrink is working by looking at each individual frame and applying a certain amount of data loss to that frame. This should reduce the overall filesize. Maybe deep analysis lets it know which scenes it can save lots on, and which it can't.

I don't know how it all works, but it does. Deep analysis definitely yields better results, for an extra 30 minutes work. I'd say it's worth it.

analysis is a brief one pass scan of the movie. it isn't going to get you good results at all for high compression. DA is a 2 pass in depth scan that determines where best to adjust bitrate in the movie.
