Hi everyone,
need a bit of help, i've just bought a new camcorder (my first one ever) its a jvc GR-D30u, the camcorder picture on the tv is great, however if i try to upload to the pc the picture is poor it pixelates if thats the right word, is there any software to correct this, or do i need to do something with the computer. i'm running windows xp,![]()

What method are you suing to transfer the footage to your PC? Done correctly it is a straight transfer via the firewire port and you should get a very large avi file, something like 13 GB per hour, and it should look exactly like what is on your tape. Install a DV codec if you haven't already.

thanks zippy it was all my fault, i did not change the settings from mpeg to AVI got a quite good picture now.

Mpeg on the fly (during transfer) is usually not as good as using a dedicated encoder later.
