But, after watching it with my spouse, I've grow to like it. I do like all kinds of music and hearing quick randitions of cool songs is fun. Yes, some of them stink. Yes, the show IS fixed but, I don't care who wins. I just like to listen. Will I live when the show gets cancelled? Yes.

Yes, it is indeed a very fun post for those who know what this american idol is. But for the 60% of the members of this forum, which are not located in USA, it is an unknown subject.
Anyway, my problem is that I prefer to see international polls in the front page, the ones we all can post and laugh.

Just imagine if a european newbie end up in DVDR help today for the first time and see in the front page a poll about a 100% american subject. What he gonna think? "American site, not for me, let's move on"
And this is not true, neither what we wish for our forum, right?

I like the show. And come on people, there are at least three really really talented singers in the bunch. Fantasia is extremely talented and probably doesn't even need this show in order to succeed. However, I like Latoya London and George Huff too.

Fantasia blows. I hope she's next to leave, I can't stand hearing her try and sing. She thinks that putting "Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah" at the end of every song is a good thing, but it can't make up for her lack of talent.

What's the point, just look at N-sync. You take anyone, do good enough camera and sound work and Voila' instant star. I mean I've heard professionally done recordings that sounding nothing like the artist singing unaccompioned. Some talent is useful, but certainly not required (look at about any rockband you want).

I think that most people would know what American Idol is. I mean this show has been duplicated all over the world and what about World Idol. Even here in Australia they have American Idol on TV every Sunday. Having said that I really don't care so I just voted for TPGO. Not having a go at you SatStorm, infact I agree strongly with alot of what you said. Whenever I watch American films or shows (usually all thats on TV anyway) you get the feeling that the American people believe that the US is the whole world and outside of that nothing else exists.

I don't watch the show, therefore, my answer was TGPO. The reason I don't watch is that they are trying to manufacture an "Idol" which is ridiculous. Just for fun, I looked up Idol on Dictionary.com and it said...

1b A false god.
2 One that is adored, often blindly or excessively.
3 Something visible but without substance.

True, very true. Just the feeling I get from watching all the junk, Even though in reality it doesn't reflect the attitude of most American people. (well atleast the ones that I've met anyway)

Just kidding you. We have our fair share of boobs. But if American TV and movies sell around the world, what does that say about the general level of intelligence? :P

So in that sense I can see why Hollywood operates as it does. You never know what might sail over peoples' heads. Best to stick with the mindless crap. Doesn't stop me from resenting it though.

This poll was started by one of the mods...so it shows up on the front page. Not sure why you'd have a problem with that.

Since America is made of all different cultures, including yours, I can't see why those comments were made.
