  1. Ok.....i have been burning cds for quite awhile, so this shouldn't be a simple fix, but i hope so. Ok, i usually burn bin/cue SVCDs with Nero through ....>Burn Image . I ahve also tried burning the cue/bin through CDRwin with no luck. Here are my results:

With Nero: keeps spitting out the cdr saying "there is not enough space on this cdr" or something like that. ( I have reinstalled Nero 3x, with all up to date version)

With CDRwin: it will burn the SVCD witht he overburn warning at first which i ok. After it is done it sayes no errors, but my cdr burner wont really read the SVCD. WMP wont read it, PowerDVD will read it, but it is skipping all over the place. (CDRwin 3.9)

I just got a new burner (old one: TDK 24/10/40 new one: Plextor 52/24/52A)

Also my Apex dvd player wont read the SVCDs. It shows as an 'Error: Invalid Chapter'. This problem has started in the last month. Before this it was 100% fine.

I cant figure it out. Both burners burn VCDs and Music fine with no problems. Any suggestions???

You might want to extract the mpeg from the bin with ISObuster just to see exactly how big it is. If it's over 800mb or so that would account for the errors.

  3. And if it is too big you could split it with tmpgenc's merge and cut features.
    If it's wet, drink it

  4. well i have extracted the mpeg with VCDGear. And yes it is alittle bigger than the 800MB allow on the cdr's, but i have enabled the overburn feature for Nero, and it used to work fine. Other people i have sent the bin/cue to, have tried it with no problems burning it.

Make sure your version of Nero is up to date. I remember one of the first versions of Nero 6 I had(there have been SEVERAL) wouldn't allow overburn at all. The bug was fixed in the next version. Make sure overburn is enabled in File>Peferences>Expert Features.

  6. Well i even started using the suggested program from this website: VCDEasy. I got the same error. I enabled the overburn, and after i burned it, tried it, same error: 'Error: InValid Track' from my Apex dvd player. I just tried it in my parents DVD player, and it plays.....but is beyond jittery. I have the latest NERO 6.3.1.6. I have the same problem with it. So that is 3 programs and a new burner, and one similar problem. Anyone with any other suggestions??

    Split it like Hardcoreruss suggested.

  8. Well that is the thing....i shouldnt have to cut or split it. Like i said i gave the bin/cue to some friends and they had absolutely no problems burning it. So it should not be a problem with the length.

You were able to burn it. Just because your Apex won't play it doesn't necessarily mean something is wrong with the disc. Try another DVD player that accepts VCD's or if you're convinced something is wrong with the disc, have your friend burn the cue and bin for you.

It shouldn't be, but it probably is. I have two computers in my house and one of them absolutely *refuses* to burn discs that are right at 100% capacity. My other computer will burn them without a blink. Don't know why, but that's the way it is. Some drives are just finicky that way.

Make sure you have a blank in your drive for this (and keep in mind I use Nero 5.5.10.56 due to v6.x bugs, so you may see things in different locations):

In Nero, load up the CUE as normal but don't burn it.

When the Write CD window appears, click on the Info tab and note the duration (in minutes and seconds).

Now click on Medium Info and compare it to the duration listed there.

Remember that CDs go by minutes, not megabytes.

Since you have given the CUE/BINS to others and they burned with no problems, I would guess either that your version of Nero is buggy or suggest that you try a different brand of CDR. CDRs are like blank video tapes: some give slightly more or less 'extra' space at the end, allowing for more overburning.

  12. In the first post i said i tried it in another DVD Player. It played.....but was all kinds of jittery. And yes my friends have burned the same bin/cue and it worked for them. It burned and played for them. And the blanks i use are TDK 80 minute CDR's which i used like a year month ago when this whole process was working. I have had some other suggestions like reinstalling the Aspi drivers and use DVDDecrypter instead of Nero, CDRWin and VCDEasy.

Does your burner natively do overburn, or do you have a hacked firmware? The problem that you describe has happened to a few friends of mine.

Also, have you overburned successfully before?

if you don't want to split the file and and it is just a little bit over 800 megs you can shrink the video by using a program called rejig. just demultiplex the video and audio. shrink the video however much you think you need then multiplex the video and audio back together. this has saved me before when i've had videos just over 800

    good luck.

  15. your plextor with cdrwin should be able to burn an svcd 825meg just fine...what i would do unload all your cd burning software and reload them..also load up the adaptec aspi layer.... sounds like your computer got sumthin' going on that shouldn't be doin'... the only other thing is maybe you are using different cdr media that does not have true 700mb????

  16. Sounds like he has a flawed nero 6 version. I had that same problem, a few of the recent versions have that problem where it says theres not enough room on the disc. Update to 6.3.1.6 or 5.5.10.56
go to filemirrors and search for "nero551056.exe" or "nero6316.exe"
    Hope this helps.

  17. well i have that plextor 52x24x52A...so i assume it can overburn with no problems. My TDK burner used to overburn all the time also and it had no problems. I havent got a hacked fireware or anything like that yet....i just want to see if this plextor will work without it...which it should. Well i dont think it is the software alone, because 3 programs have not worked. Nero, cdrwin, and VCDeasy. So im now burning a svcd with DVD Decrypter and using the SPTI drivers instead of the ASPI. With the first burn, it worked with no problem, but the second cd came out extremely weird. Something i have never seen. I again tried it on both DVD player to see if it would work and it played in both DVD Players, and read as a SVCD, BUT there was NO picture, and only a loud static sound. So i dont know here, ill try a few more things if anyone has any ideas???

  18. Ok....well i tried the old way of burning my SVCDs and it has worked for the most part. I completely reinstalled NERO after deleting all registry entries, plus i reinstalled the ASPI drivers. After this I extracted the mpeg from the bin/cue with VCDGear, then burned with NERO and it worked. So...i tried it 3 times, and it worked each time. So ill keep my fingers crossed that it will stay working!!! Thanx for all the help from all those who replied with suggestions...i really appreciate it!!
