  1. i am trying to burn a divx file and when i do and i try to play it in my stand alone player, it tells me "no audio". i have tried to load it in virtualdub and it tells me:

Couldn't locate decompressor for format 'DIV3' (Microsoft High speed MPEG-4 V3 [Hack: DivX Low-Motion])
VirtualDub requires a Video for Windows (VFW) compatible codec to decompress video. DirectShow codecs, such as those used by Windows Media Player, are not suitable.

i downloaded the pandfwdv codec and i dont get that message anymore, but it tells me:

VideoSourceAvi Error: the source image format is not acceptable.

all i want to do is be able to burn this file to vcd so that i can watch it on my standalone player. any ideas or suggestions. i have read alot of the foums and guides and still cannot get it. all help is apprectiated. thank you.

  3. under video this is what it says with gspot:

    Codec :4CC Div3
    Name : Divx 3 Low-motion
    Stat: codec not installed.

so where do i go to get the codec i need for this?

btw, i have no problem playing it with Power DVD or WMP. sound is good and in sync. only when i burn to cd do i get "no audio".

At the link I gave you there's some info about the divx 3 codec and a link to D/L it too. Try it.
