  1. I have succesfully backed over 50 of my home DVD's but my problem is that they only play in Standalone DVD players that support DVD-R Discs. I read somewhere that you need to burn DVD's as UDF 1.02 in order to have them play in most standalone DVD players that dont support DVD-R discs. Also where can I buy the Nero version that burns DVD. My current version does not have the option to burn DVD's.

    Thank you

first time i heard this...a myth? there are so many options...
    1. buy a $30 player that plays everything.
    2. Bitset (if your burner has this feature) to dvd-r, or dvd-rom.
    3. burn different media.
    4. get a dual-format burner. (isn't your TDK already a duallie?)

even if UDF works you will probably lose 400M right off the top due to formatting. then your movie can only be a max of less that 4G. go with option #1

also why even think about using Nero when your current prog is working so well? you can format to UDF (if you REALLY want to) with the software that came with your TDK. leave well enuff alone already.

  4. noki thank you for your responce but when I take my movies to my friends house or a family memebers house and the dont have a DVD that plays everything; that is where my problem comes in.
also my uncle want to back up his movies but he doesnt have a DVD player that plays anything so I wanted to figure out a way that he could burn his discs so that his old DVD will read them. If all else fails then I wil tell my uncle to buy a new DVD player but first I want to try all available options
