I can see both sides of this argument, and I do agree that some posts are a little silly, I don't like the Help Me/Heeellllpppp/I am new subjects either. It does not bode well for the question and it is little effort for the poster to phrase a good subject.

That said, I do agree with the chap that posted the original message. I think people do shoot down other members far to quickly. Yes the answer may be out there already (and probably is) but if this site has one special attribute to it, in my eyes it is the fact that the questions get answered so quickly. If like me you have a family running around at home, kids pulling at your shirt whilst I am trying to compile a DVD from Home video then a quick answer is exactly what I need.

I am always refering people to this site because I think it has excellent members and is a fantastic pool of information. Although my knowledge is limited I always post an answer if I have it. It takes a couple of seconds and it makes the life of someone out there a lot easier. A posted thank you in return is all I need to know that it is mission accomplished and I get a slight buzz from that.

So all I can say is climb down off your pedestals all you angry responders and remember that we are helping people out there that MAY not have the time to complete full research. There may be a few lazy bones out there but lets just put them down to "acceptable losses".

If someone does not have the time to perform a little basic research (and I mean read just a couple of articles/guides that are pertinent to the subject) then they don't have the time that this hobby of ours requires.

I don't want to upset anyone, particularly you as you have helped me several times and I am grateful. I was just trying to point out that people do appreciate the help that you more experienced users distribute and that is why this site has the reputation it does.
