Somehow I managed to miss this thread until it was 5 pages long.

I just read the whole damn thing.

Stupid me as I wasted WAY too much time!

I don't even remember the original post now ...

And to top it all off I didn't even say anything usefull or witty.

This is an example of why newbies get flamed. Right here, in print and fit for all to read.

    * No mention of what guide was used,
    * No mention of what settings were used,
    * No mention of what process was used,
    * No mention of anything that would help 'us' troubleshoot the problem,

But also not a hint of warez. And that's good.

I think bugster summed up the feelings exactly. And this is one of the reasons why I disagree with trekkieman.
I think its good you spotted this but I have to disagree with you on your opening statement. Newbies should not be flamed for posts like this, they should be nudged gently in the right direction. This includes pointing to guides, specific ones if appropriate or generally otherwise, reccomending forum search as another useful resource and other such suggestions that are aimed at teaching the new forum member how to make best use of the bountiful resources at www.dvdrhelp.com.

If after a few such gentle nudges and maybe even a fairly hard shove they still dont get it...

and no, I still don't condone flaming even in that situation

If you start a new thread to mock me, could you PM me the link to it because it's way too hard to find anything here......

Is that enough to get it started?

@Supreme2k: My friend, I don't capitalise anything. I use both the term europeans and seperate the French, Italians, Greeks, etc.

And I have a reason: For the americans, Political Correct is not to mention the characteristics of the races you have there (indians, blacks, hispos, etc). In Europe, it is EXACTLY THE OPPOSITE. The current political correct thing is to point exactly the differences between all the european nations and show at the same time how we manage to became a union...

As you see, it is a totally different approach. And you can't even suspect the other side of each thing I say. You simply post your points.

And about respect, I give to the Americans the same respect they given to us the Europeans.... In the matter of fact, I would like to give them back, exactly what they offering us for so many years...

Meanwhile, I bet that you didn't saw that the original poster refered to you directly, right?
Read 3 pages before and you'll be suprised.

Please, be my guest, re-read all you wish
I know Satstorm well enough to know he wasn't being offensive.
    W.
Well I don't know him, and you do. So in that case re-take my advice and re-read the words of that post, and when doing so try not to gloss over what was said. The words are there for everyone to read. If you are not biased, then chances are you agree with the tone and attitude of what was said, hence, to you, (naturally) those are not offensive words in the slightest.

    @fritzi93: Sorry then
This post is so chaotic already, I find it hard to follow!

@Paul Simmel: You have the problem, not me....

    copy paste from before:

@Supreme2k: My friend, I don't capitalise anything. I use both the term europeans and seperate the French, Italians, Greeks, etc.

And I have a reason: For the americans, Political Correct is not to mention the characteristics of the races you have there (indians, blacks, hispos, etc). In Europe, it is EXACTLY THE OPPOSITE. -----------------------
And about the other thing you said, about the capital letter on the word "americans", I already explain it. I give capitals only on Names, nations, because this is what I know for english. General terms don't get a capital letter. "Americans", is a general term and can be used for all the americans, traditionally of the north hemispere. The others are latin americans. Same way, 'europeans" is used for all the europeans, mostly those of the "west" side if you prefer. But "USA", "Germany", "Italy", etc are countries and there I use capital letters. But why I have to use capitals on general terms like "american", "european", etc? I don't know that english language requare this.
The reminds me the flame I used to have, because I used a lot the "ain't" and not the "isn't" in my posts! For me it was just typing, for some North Stated Americans, it was an insult (or irritating at least...).
    Anyway

I edited this post, after request.

  16. Sat, no apology necessary, I might not have been clear enough. BTW, your English isn't bad at all.
I hope you realize all Americans are not the same. If you do, I'll grant that each nationality, taken as a whole, has distinctive characteristics. But be careful how far you go with generalizations. Otherwise, we'll have to start talking about hot-blooded (hot-headed?) Mediterranean types. :P

I like this site. But then again I don't really have much of a life. It is to me kind of like Jerry Springer, Ohpra and This Old House all twisted together.(I did say TWISTED)

I kind of agree that sometimes Noobs get jumped on hard. I also can see some of the reasoning. The world isn't perfect and this site isn't either. I ain't a goodie two shoe but the profanity and other insults before an answer or correction or a read the guides reply is in my opinion a little to much. You don't have to reply to anyone that pisses you off. If you want to or need to vent, then vent. But then, after you feel better, apologize, if not to the offender then to the rest of the readers.(it's kind of a "cover your ass" "don't think I'm a total ******* *******" kind of thing)

As I said I like this site, but it can be overwelhming at first(hell I don't really rember how long I have been lurking around and I still don't know half of the shorthand or wink wink shit!) It might just be me, but searching this site ain't always that easy to do. It is easy to get off on a tangent, and harder to find something when you don't really know what it is that you are looking for. Most users already know that the possible computer setup and program options are nearly infinite and video takes some patience. Showing patience to noobs with fair to dumb questions is respectable. Questions with unaccecptable content should be handled by the moderators in a professional manor.

As for all the other shit that has followed , nationality, spelling, punctuation, hijacking and everything else, we can all try to be better. As I don't have a great mastery of video and my typing is so slow as to give timely replies is impossible (only 6 replies when I started typing) I tend to stick with replying to non-tech post. I find this site fairly entertaining and greatly educational.

As for why this thread has gotten so much attention? Simple! We all know the difference between right and wrong and we all want this site to continue to be a great site. Most of us have probally thought about posting something along these lines but never did and this is a chance to bear our souls OH NO! I HAVE BECOME A GOODIE TWO SHOE, I THINK IAM GOING TO PUKE!
IS IT SUPPOSED TO SMOKE LIKE THAT?

I bet you are familiar with this....

@ZAPPER: You are right, sometimes even me is difficult to locate something I once read in the site and I do know that still exists somewhere.
But we have to admit, that Baldrick really improves the site all the time. The design of dvdrhelp, is very experimental overall. I don't believe that there is another site worldwide with a so well designed first page, which you can access direct so many things!
I congratulate Baldrick about his work.

    @fritzi93
Of course and I know that all USA citizents ain't the same. You have the same amount of ******** all countries have. The 95% of USA people are good people. In Greece for example, the asholes are much more (about 20%)....
