  1. I am looking for a DVD player that plays both Region 1 and Region 2 DVDs that also has a VCR built in that will play PAL and NTSC.

This is for me girlfriend who teaches german at a high school and would like only one player that does it all if possible.

    Thanks!

  2. Just check out the DVD Player list, search for dvd/vhs combo player and check if theres a region code hack available for the models you may find. If you are in Europe or other PAL country it should not be a problem to playback NTSC on the television, unless its 15+ years old.

Having lived in the U.S. and now living in Germany....I'd say you are much better off going the DVD player route first. That would be the cheapest and easiest way to go.

If you are in America....you almost have no choice but to purchase a "Worldwide VCR"....meaning one that has a built in converter. They are NOT cheap (around $400 to $500). I have an Aiwa Worldwide VCR (back home in America) and it is a GREAT machine....not just because it converts. It's a great all-round VCR as well.

PM me if you need more info.
