Hi, all.
Well, I'm having troubles with some AVI files: the audio is perfectly fine, but the video runs in "slow-motion", pausing ocasionally and reassuming the "movement" in slow motion again.
Now, the first time this happened was with a MPG3-Fast-motion 4cc (according to Gspot). I tried everything, downloaded every codec mentioned and reinstalled all my codecs. Zero, nada. I gave up on watching that file, assuming it was an encoding problem.
Well, it happened again today. This time, GSPOT says the video is 4cc XVID and that I have 3 compatible codecs (for the other AVI file, I had 4). THey are: XVID MPEG-4 Codec, XVID MPEG-4 Video Decoder and 3ivx D4 Video Decoder.
However, the video is still slow, out of synch with audio (which is normal).
Can anyone please help me with this?
P.S.: I've just installed two new codec packages and now GSPOT says I have 6 compatible video codecs. However, the problem remains.![]()

Ok, nobody seems to know what's happening. So I'll give you two new pieces of information:
1) Both files that exhibited the "slow-motion" problem were over 700 Mb. I don't know if this has something to do with it, but I guess it's worth mentioning. ANyway, I tried to split the AVI file in two, but the problem was not solved.
2) When I loaded the AVI file on VirtualDub, the following message appeared: "VirtDub has detected an improper VBR audio encoding in the source AVI file and will rewrite the audio header with standard CBR values during processing for better compatibility. This may introduce up to 13040ms of skew from the video stream. If this is unacceptable, decompress the entire audio stream to an uncompressed WAV file and recompress with a constant bitrate encoder".
Now, the problem is with the VIDEO, so I guess it has nothing to do with it either, but... hey! Can someone help me???? -
Having multiple codecs is not a good thing, they will conflict. Instead of adding more you may want to try deleting them all and installing only one at a time as you need it. Just my 2 cents.
