DIVX audio stumbles on Philips DVP642

I'm playing DIVX files on the Philips DVP642 and the audio stumles randomly. I'm using Vidomi to create the files with Lame MP3 audio.
Also I can't get DIVX made with AC3 to load at all,the player justs locksup.
On the bright side the player is macrovision free out of the box.
