  1. So I think I have finally found a place where I can get the Service Remote for the 510H. I already got a hold of the service manual, the "data CD" and I have had a really rough time finding the remote.

I tried to order it from a local electronics repair shop and they told me it would be in within 5 business days. Then they called me back the next day and said that they couldn't order it for me.

Then I tried with a friend of a friend who said he could get it for me and a week later i found out that he too could not get it.

Anyway, I just ordered it from a third place today and hopefully it will be here in about 1 week. I asked if they could rush the order to me and they said no.

In any case, if all goes well, I will see if I can successfully upgrade the drive in the Pioneer to a 250 GB Western Digital.

Is there still any interest from others on this board?

  2. I'm interested. I own a 510 with 80G. Where did you get the manual and data CD? I'd be interested in the the service remote also.

  5. Hi Guys

Yep count me in - definitely interested in the possibility of getting a larger drive to work.

I have the UK DVR-5100. I think they're pretty much the same.

  6. Well,

I got bad news again today....

The place I had ordered the service remote from had originally told me that it was backordered until April 26th.

I called them back again today and they told me that my order had been cancelled.

When I asked them why, they told me that only an authorized pioneer service center can order the remote.

This has been my fifth failed attempt at getting the remote.

    I'll keep everyone posted.
