I seem to be encountering a strange problem making SVCDs. Maybe about 60% of the time, when cutting from one camera angle to another, there seems to be a split-second flash or flicker. For example, say a scene goes from a close-up shot on an actors face to a distance shot of the entire room or scene, at the instant to cut takes place, there's a flash or flicker, too fast to really describe in any detail, but definitely noticeable. Does anyone know why this might happen?

I'm using VirtualDub to capture, TMPGenc to encode, TSCV to author and CDRDAO to burn. I have a Windows2000 machine.

I see this got moved to a different forum. Sorry for posting it in the wrong place--I wasn't sure if it was an authoring problem, or an encoding problem, or even a capturing problem. I'm starting to think it might be the last one, because when I watch the captured AVI on my computer, there seems to be a little bit of that "flashing" between cuts. Like I said, it's very hard to describe, because it happens so fast. Does anyone have any idea what this is and how to get rid of it?
