Hi, I want to edit some if my miniDV footage and also some MPEG-II footage together, in the same project in Premiere.

Is this possible? If so, what is the best way to go about it?

Also, which is the best quality, AVI or MPEG-II?

    Thanks.

Premier will handle both. The 'Best' footage is whatever is RAW (hasn't been encoded yet), so that would be DV over MPEG. That assumes the DV is any good (lighting, camera stability, white balance, color banlance, black balance, shot is framed, etc).

There is no correct answer, best is whatever looks best.

Can I put them together in a project and export them as one movie? Would it play ok, or should I convert the mpeg file to AVI before I start?

    cheers

Premiere is playing the mpeg2 files very badly- jumping and freezing etc.
The files are made by recording from a TV card on my PC.
Can anyone help with this please?

convert the mpeg to avi first is about the only way to fix , if you want to use premiere that is ..
