I decided to start using DivX 4.01 to capture Video I planed to keep and watch on my computer. I recoreded at the bitrate that I calculated would let me fit my video onto a CD. Once I was done I realized that file was a little too big. No problem I thought I opened it in Vitual Dub and set the bit rate a little lower and saved the AVI. Still to big, my 730mb file is now 725mb. I tried again, this time I set the bit rate 100kbps less than the caputer. no luck, now its 720mb. On my last try I had the bir rate set at 1250kbps, which according to the bitrate calculater should allow me to fit 1 hour on a 650mb disc. I only have 48 minutes of video and its still over 700mb.
Am I doing something wrong, is there a problem with Vitural Dub and DivX 4.01, do the bitrate calculaters not work with DivX 4.01?
Thanks for you help.
