  1. OK... I have this movie I want to make into a vcd. Problem is, when I split the movie into two parts with virtualdub, the second parts audio is out of sync. Prior to doing this I would get this error:

"Improper VBR audio encoding, de-compress the entire audio into an un compressed wav file and re-compress with a constant bit rate encoder."

Issue is, I have no idea what that means. I mean I do, but how. I stripped the audio and made it a wav file. So what I have to do is convert the wav into something else, and merge it with the video, then split into two parts, then encode into mpeg for vcd playability... is this correct?

So I should need, Virtual Dub, Tmpgenc, and what else?

Thanks in advance for any help one of you experts can provide.

I recommend that you don't split your avi, use the "source range" in TMPGEnc to select each part of the video to encode. I use Goldwave to extract AC3 audio to wav, just load in the avi then save. Use the wav as the audio source for TMPGEnc. You can also extract using Virtualdub and headac3he to convert to wav.
