Emprex Dual 8X+- Internal Drive

I have just purchased this drive and I am having a problem. I have purchased Memorex DVD+RW, Maxwell DVD-R, and Maxwell DVD+R blank disc. I am using Nero 6.3.1.6 burning software and I have tried Roxix CD software. When I try to burn an MPEG file onto a DVD blank disc, it states that : "sorry, your complitation cannot be written on this kind of disc. Please insert a disc of the correct type or modify the settings of your complitation to make it compatible with the current disc". I have updated the firmware, and I am totally lost on what could cause this.

Pentium III 533HZ-933HZ Processor
512 mb Ram
Emprex DVD Burner 8X +-
DVD Rom

Has anyone encountered this problem?

The disc may not be blank ...

or it could be the BTC1008 firmware ... which came bad... simply update it. Search this forum for links to another forum where BTC talks to people and gives out files.
