  1. Does anyone know anything about this card? I have checked out Visiontek's Web site, read the online reviews, and went to my local computer store and read the box. It looks to good to be true, a great 64mb Video Card and Real Time MPEG2 capture.

Just got the card today. Had some trouble installing the newest drivers from VisionTek site in Win XP but it's o.k. now. I haven't done much with the card yet but I did capture some stuff in realtime with mpeg-2 compression and it looked good. I got this card to use with Virtualdub and TMPGenc anyway so the software package wasn't too important to me. I don't know if you are interested but I ran 3DMark2000 and 3DMark2001 and the scores were 5192 and 2410 respectively. This beats the 4672 the ATI AIW gave me yesterday (3DMark2000). ATI software crashed all the time in Win XP - even with the ATI XP drivers installed. No problems with the Visiontek supplied software yet. I recommend this card over the ATI AIW anyday!! Hope I helped.

  3. Just got one today. Heard some ok things about it's capture ability, but they probably were using the shit software that comes with it. I'll post my findings this weekend.

  4. I got one only to find out the video capture won't work with SMP. I'm going to sell mine and get something that'll work on my dual AMD 1800+. I'm running XP Pro and video capture (or anything that uses the Personal Cinema Box) simply refuses to work with the MultiProcessor kernel. I tried swithing to the UniProcessor kernel and everything worked, but occasionally had audio sync probs.
I even tried the newest drivers from VisionTek...still won't work in SMP.
