  1. Is there a guide to convert an M2V file or a DVD using the IFO details to XVID using VirtualDub (any version) with 2 passes?

I don't want to use DVDx or AutoGK i specifically require a guide for VirtualDub.

Well, if you have Virtual Dub mod, you can load the VOBs or M2V files and save them as an XviD AVI.
    Hello.

    If in doubt, Google it.

  4. I know pretty much know how to load each seperate vob and m2v but how do i say to VirtualDub "This is the whole DVD now go and compress" i know autogk and dvdx you use the IFO file but how do i get VirtualDub to do that?

Also i only know how to do 1 pass using xvid but how do i specify nth number of passes so VirtualDub goes away and does one pass then another without any user interaction?

  5. To do 2 pass encodong with Xvid in VdubMod open your file then open the Xvid configure panel. Select "Twopass-1st pass" (or something like that I am at work) then set up you encoding options, note: you don't setup the bitrate here. Then close that and hit "F7" give the avi a name and click on the box below that says something like "Don’t run this job now; add it to job control so I can run it in batch mode" Then hit save... Nothing will happen. Go back to the Xvid configure panel and select "Twopass-2nd pass" adjust your bitrate, but do not change anything else from what it was the first pass. Close that and hit "F7" again. Leave the file name the same, make sure the box for batch mode is check and hit save.

Then hit "F4" and both passes should be in the que. Hit start and vdubmod will run both passes. If you want the computer to shutdown when it is done encoding both passes (to set it up overnight then go to bed) hit Configure and click shutdown when done.
