  1. I have a video that is about 6 minutes or so, its basically something really slow, its a snail sliding along. I wanna speed it up to around 2 minutes. What is a program I can do this with? I have no idea on how to use Premiere (Adobe) are there any good alternatives? The video is an AVI.
    Thanx for the help

  2. Ulead Video Studio will do that. You can probably just get the trial version. Put the clip on the timeline and right click on it. One of the menu choices is to change the speed.

i actually have premiere and would like to do this in premiere. i would also like to be able to slow video down for slow motion. i know how to capture at 60fps but want to slow it down o 25fps slow motion. only thing i can see is to convert it to 25fps which does not slow a video down.

i prefere premiere but can use other programs like vdub tmpeg ect

Load the avi in virtualdub and choose video/framerate and change to 25fps for your video that is 60 fps and the other video if its 29.97 frames then change it to 90fps to get it playing 3x as fast then save as in direct stream copy mode.
    I think,therefore i am a hamster.

  5. ok, in premiere put the clip you would like to speed up in the timeline, (video 1A or whatever you choose) then right click it and select speed, then a little window will come up where you can enter diffrent values. 100 is normal speed, anything lower than 100 would be slowing it down (slow motion) and anything higher than 100 would speed it up. just play with that value until you find something you like.

    hope this helps!

Pinnacle Studio (I have v.8 ) does this, I've done it very successfully.
