  1. Would like to know your opinions on the best way for me to make high quality labels for my dvd-r discs. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

  2. To be honest, i wouldn't advise you to put labels of any type on your discs. If you want pretty pictures on them, then buy printable dvd's.
    Yes, I am a Pooternerd

  3. Epson R200, very effective labelling for printable DVDR's, I have one and absolutely love it. My advise to you would be to never, ever, ever, ever apply a sticky label to your DVD's.

  4. Ok , with the epson 200 how do you choose the photo you want on the dvd ? Is it as simple as scanning the original dvd and then printing that photo? Please give me details on your methods.

I would advise using hub labels and the Surething label authoring program. Printable disks may be okay, but if you make a mistake in printing one, you have no recourse except a sharpie or grab another disk.

  7. Do a forum search on that subject and you'll see that a lot of people have had adverse reactions to labels on their discs.

In my opinion, either get an ink jet printable disc and printer setup or use a sharpie/marker.

Either scan your disc for the graphic you want to use, create your own, or download from the net. Then import the graphic into epsons CD print software and print on the disc. It is very easy and very effective.

This is now a pretty lengthy thread, but just scanning through it should be enough to put anyone off applying sticky paper labels to DVD's.

being new to this all, I purchased a "cd stomper pro" cd-r labelling system for about $40 including labels for 50 cd/dvds it came with it's own software and you scan the pic you want or the disc you want to back up and then print it on the special paper provided and then put it onto a special round thing that came with it to centre it onto your media - works really well - but these other forum users would know better whether it is a safe way to do it or not.
