Is there a difference in error handling for UDF or ISO DVDs, or is the error handling taken care of by the DVD-R format?
If I remember correctly: For CDs, you get the extra space for VCDs/SVCDs by using a different mode (1 rather than 2/XA or something like that) that uses larger sector sizes. This is done at the expense of error handling data that helps protect against scratches, etc in normal ISO CDs.
Does this same concept apply to DVDs? It seems to me that UDF is intended as a successor file format for ISO, and I can't find any reference to differences in error handling. Is UDF just as reliable for data storage? I'd like to backup large files using UDF but don't want to sacrifice data reliability.
