Hi, I have went to Adobe Support and tried troubleshooting, although I still get the error.

    I've uninstalled RealOne Player, I don't have the newdot~1.dll and newdot~2.dll files.

And the update will not install on my computer for some reason. It says it cannot find Encore DVD 1.0 in the directory path, when I know it is there.

Can somebody help me get rid of this error so I can burn my DVD?

  3. The Encore update does not work on a certain build of the program (I forget which).

I think your error may come from an audio conflict.

Well I tried it another way, and got a different problem.

I made a DVD Folder instead of making a DVD Disc, I then burned that with RecordNow MAX. But when I play the DVD, the menu doesn't pop up, and the movie doesn't start correctly.

If I play with the remote for a couple minutes, I finally get it to play.

Then again, the Preview feature in Encore DVD gave me the same problem.

    What do ya'll think?

If it doesnt work in the preview window - there is little chance it will work on a disk.

Unfortuantly to answer what is wrong is hard because there could be an infinate number of reasons.

Did you set the menu to be First Play? Have you checked all your links?

I'm not sure, next time I will re-check everything.

But like you mentioned, if it didn't work in Preview, It won't work on disc, that should've been my first sign to check something out.

I would still like to know why it gave me that error, and why I couldn't update the program.

There are only three reasons why the update will not work.

    1. A corrupt download.
    2. The update does not like the program serial number.
    3. You installed the original to somehwere other than the default install folder.

However I never did get the error message prior to the update.

suggestion, make sure all you content is encoded to the correct format prior to importing it as an asset into Encore.

    Good luck.

Yeah this is the way it is. I converted everything to MPEG-2 (m2v & wav). Then I imported into Encore DVD.

Lets see, I installed it into the Default program directory. I downloaded the update twice from Adobe, so I don't think it's corrupted.

But perhaps it was the serial number....

    Thanks for the help

  10. The Encore update only works with certain builds of the program. The pre-release and early builds of the program won't support the update.
