im trying to rip a movie with smart ripper and after i open it and all the chapters show up, all but one of them dont have a min/max datarate, and i think thats the reason that when i try to rip one that doesnt have a min/max datarate, it immidiately asks me when i start ripping if i want to abort. it does not ask me this when i choose the chapter that DOES have the min/max datarate. any ideas as to why?

Certain dvds can lock up certain dvd rippers for one reason or another. It could be something as simple as a scratch on the dvd.

Did you play your dvd in a software dvd player before trying to rip it? This is something you should always do. Try using a different ripping program also.

Also check for additional functions that can make dvds harder to rip like seamless branching. Sometimes dvds like this require different methods for ripping.
