I wouldn't send my worst enemy to some of the pages my pop blocker has ventured into (Russia and Ukraine). The warning indicator was like a strobe light. Some of those aren't pop-ups, but virus and trojan loaders, and pop up blockers won't protect you. Be adventurous, explore Russian porn.
