  1. For some reason, all of a sudden about a week ago all of my avi's and mpegs started playing upside down. At first I thought it was just windows media player, but I have since removed and reinstalled the program. Thats not the problem. What makes this even harder for me to figure out is that when I write them to vcd, they work fine. This may be something very simple, but since im kind of new to this, could someone please let me know what is going wrong?

    Thanks

  2. The divx codec is outdated, broken or corrupted. Remove it if listed in add/remove programs, reboot, then install divx 4.02. Get it here

  5. But I'm not using that program, and it wouldn't cause it to happen in media player would it?

  7. You didn't specify which version of Windows you're using, but you need to check to make sure your graphics hardware acceleration is turned all the way up.

In Windows XP, you get there by going to the Control Panel>Display>Advanced. Turning hardware acceleration all the way down will result in upside-down DIVX playback.

Also, make sure you don't have the Angel Potion codec installed. It'll invert some video files during playback, too.

  9. I am using windows 98. And I have installed several programs around that time, but I have since tried to delete them to see if that was the problem, but it didn't help. If I didnt have so many files to back up, I would just restore my hard drive and start form scratch.

    Thanks

  10. I had the same problem awhile back. I installed the latest version (at the time) of WinDVD and It seemed to do the trick. Might be a dll problem with your media viewer

If you still have problems with the codec, frameserve with Avisynth and add the FlipVertical filter.

    AVISource("c:\..full path..\filename.avi")
    FlipVertical

I know, it sounds a bit funny, but try it.

  12. Don't know if this will help or not -

Player "Sasami2K" - listed under tools on this site.

Once your video is playing right click on the movie to bring up a dialog box.

"Video Filters" down toward the bottom of the list is "flip". Click on "flip".

That should put you right side up.
