I just bought two 25Pack of DVD+R at BestBuy for $57.99 with an $8 mail in rebait. I think this was a good buy.
The DVD-R was almost twice that. Really what makes DVD-R better then DVD+R or the other way around? Seams like the more I read on this the more confused I get.

It's not that one's better and one's worse. Different types of media go on sale at different times. For all we know, next week the DVD-R 50 packs will be on sale and the DVD+R's will be $99.
You just have to experiment and find out which format works best for you in your players. DVD-R tends to be more compatible, especially in older equipment, but in more modern equipment, both are fairly equal. (of course, the 95% of players that play DVD-R may not be the same 95% of players that play DVD+R).

This is just my prefrence however I always stick to DVD-R and especially FUJI (Made in Japan)...... TODAY IS LAST DAY OF THE SALE AT OFFICE MAX 4-10-04
10pk FUJI (4X) DVD-R for $17.99 + a $5.00 mail in rebate = $12.99 for a 10pk of these awesome made in Japan TY media..... Cannot be beaten !!!
I picked up 2 packs yesterday....
A 25 spindle of TY DVD-R (4X) is usually around $50.00 !!!
The debate about about DVD formats (+ or -) media being superior is pretty much garbage. I think it's the same quality.....The most important thing is the actual manufacturer of the media as it relates to quality. Which is why I stick to stuff made in Japan. Take a look at www.nomorecoasters.com and you can see the quality issues of media by manufacturer.
I just had lots of bad experiences (Coasters) with DVD media made in Taiwan and never had a coaster with any Japanese media as of yetEven a fool can be wise, all he has to do is keep his mouth shut -
Right on Defcon...
Picked up 3 - 10 packs myself. Very good media at a very good price. Now to see if OM comes through with the rebate. -
Don't know if they have any left, but Staples has been running a sale on 10-pack Sony DVD Media for $9.94 a pop.
But you have to fish through them for the TY's (Made In Japan). Some are Taiwan made. Picked up 5 packs this past week, couldn't resist.
Get them while you can, they'll go fast I'm sure.

That is a pretty good deal Kolosus especially considering Wal Mart sells 3pk Sony DVD-R for $7.99
Too bad there is no Staples where I liveEven a fool can be wise, all he has to do is keep his mouth shut -
You may be able to pick them up online at staples.com. Then again, it may be an in store sale only. I know they offer free shipping on a lot of their items.
No staples around me either, happened to be in the nearest big city (70 miles from me) and ran across them by chance.

How can you tell if they are made in Japan or not?
