  1. I'm trying to convert some .mpg files to .avi following the guides available on this website as well as on Doom9.net. My problem is that, when I select MPEG Layer-3 under Audio Compression, it only goes up to 56kBit/s, 22,050Hz Stereo, 7KB/s, yet the Doom9.net guide suggests setting it at 128kBit/s, 44,100Hz Stereo, 16KB/s.
How can I fix this problem?
    Thanks is advance.

  2. Microsoft has only licensed a 56 kbit mp3 compression codec for windows. You must install a commercial MP3 codec, or use a program such as lame or besweet to make your mp3 from the wave.

  3. Could you or somebody else be so kind as to recommend such a codec?
    Thanks.

    Search Comp PM
Download the FREE lame mp3 codec, right click on the included LameACM.inf and select Install. You can now choose lame mp3 in virtualdub.
