ran avi file through mp3 freeze and found no bad frames, but there are bad frames because audio goes out of sync half way through 2nd disc after encoding to mpeg2 and when i play the raw avi file through windows media player it shuts down when it gets to the bad frames.
how do i find these bad frames if mp3 freeze cannot.

You must know where they are, that's where the sound goes out of sync. Edit that part out of the avi using Vdub-MP3, look in the Edit section for instructions on editting with Vdub.
