  1. I'm in a weird situation and I have no clue why it's happening. I don't know anything about encoding. I just use TMPGenc to make VCDs because it's the easiest and the encoder that almost keeps the quality of the movie. Please I need help (I'll say what the problem is after I explain my situation)

Okay, I download anime (japanese cartoons) and they are each ~20 minutes long (163MB).

There are 2 translators that I download from.

Now, the first one is [TW].
    Second is [Anbu].

Sometimes, I download the TW version, sometimes I get the Anbu.

    I can fit 3 episodes on a CD-R ('cuz it's 23 minutes per episode)

Everything's normal with TW, but Anbu has a problem.

Whenever I check the estimated file size right before encoding ONE episode, it says the movie files will be 791MB (79:06 minutes)

TW is 233.44MB and it's the normal time (23:21 minutes)

And sometimes, some TW episode have the same problem too...

Can you tell me what I'm doing wong?

(If you didn't get what my problem was, read this:
Translator | Episode | size | size after encoding | time | time after enc.
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    1. TW 25 163 MB 233.44MB 23:20 23:21
    2. Anbu 25 182.7 MB 802.92MB 23:21 79:06
    3. TW 28 162 MB 587.2 MB 23:04 58.43
    4. TW 29 170 MB 230.92 MB 23:05 23:06
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So my problem is this: Why is (2) and (3) bigger than than the original size it's supposed to be??? (Why does it go from 162 MB to 587.2 MB instead of going from 162 MB to 232.44 MB?)

(I'm sorry if its long..... )

Are you deompressing the audio to wav before encoding in TMPGEnc? TMPGEnc sometimes chokes on certain compressed audio types. To find out what kind of audio your files have use G-spot. You can deompress the audio to wav in Virtualdub.

  4. I'll try but I think tooLAME automatically makes a wav before it starts encoding the video... but I'll try what you told me to do anyways.
