  1. ok im trying to encode a xvid or divx file to mpeg to burn as a vcd. i read the how to articles and some threads but they are of no help. heres the steps ive been trying

    1. fixed bad frames in vdub-mp3freeze
2.ripp audio to WAV file using both direct stream and full processing mode
3.loaded avi into tmpeg and loaded WAV file as audio source, using PAL template.

*using this method i get audio sync in the middle of the video as most of the members here have.

ive tried to go to SOURCE RANGE in the setting in tmpeg to try to fix the audio gap but it doesnt help either.
can someone PLEASE help me ive been working at this for 3 days now on the same video with no results. i checked the audio and video info using vdubMOD and the video is ahead of the audio by 1 sec.
ive read that i can stretch the audio to fit with the video but i dont know how that works

can anyone just give me some steps on how to fix the audio sync THANKS alot.

I don't know what that means. You should only be using full processing mode when decompressing to wav.

This can be done with Goldwave. Once you open the audio with it, go to Effect>Time Warp, plug in the correct length that matches the video length, click ok, wait for the effect to be processed and then save as a new wav. Finally, use the new wav as your audio source in TMPGEnc.

Does the AVI play in sync after you have edited out the badframes.

Is the sound MP3 or AC3 If its MP3 then you don't really need to save as wav unless you have another problem.
Just stick the movie into TMPGenc and let it do its stuff.

    Not necessary for VCD.

  6. does goldwav save any kind of temp file when i do effect>time warp>change time>OK. while its processing it stops and says im out of disc space. and wen i check my C: drive i go from 1.4g to 400mb. but the audio file i opened to change in goldwave is in my D: but that drive is left unchanged.
