Hi. I have an AVI that I want to put to DVD. However, its framerate is unusual. Here is what I got from GSpot:

    Codec: XviD
    Size: 640x480
    Bitrate: 900 kb/s
    FPS: 23.981

How do I go about converting this to MPEG-2 for DVD?

Load the file in virtualdub and select direct stream copy and choose framerate under video and change to 23.976 and save as with no audio, then select avi audio and direct stream copy and save wav as.Then load the audio into besweet gui and change framerate from 23.981 to 23.976 and save as wav, then load the avi you just saved and then load the wav that was changed into audio/wav audio and choose direct stream copy on video and audio and save as for your fixed avi. This can then be encoded with no problems.

I don't really understand how to use the normal BeSweetGUI so I used the wizard. I selected PAL > NTSC (25.000 to 23.976) even though my AVI is not 25.000 and because there are no other options. When I clicked "Go", it didn't seem to work. Here is what the log says:

    BeSweet v1.5b25 by DSPguru.
    --------------------------
    Using hip.dll v1.19 by Myers Carpenter <myers@users.sf.net>
    Using Shibatch.dll v0.24 by Naoki Shibata & DSPguru (shibatch.sourceforge.net).
Error 80: Error getting tooLame.dll interfaces
    Quiting...
    [00:00:00:000] Conversion Completed !

    Logging ends : 04/06/04 , 19:33:51.

I do not seem to have a tooLame.dll in my folder. It was not included in the BeSweet ZIP file nor in the BeSweetGUI ZIP file.

If you use the 25fps to 23.976 fps you will get your audio incorrect and out of sync. You have to use the besweet gui with besweet and set custom framerate to what i told you, look up some guides on the use of besweet with the gui and after some practise you will be able to figure it out, took me a bit but now i can do most framerate conversions with out no problems. The framerate conversions are actually besweet setting the timelength according to the figure you give it since audio has no frames to begin with.

So how do I correct the conversion problem? It won't output no matter what I do. Last time I had to try to change the sampling frequency of an MP2 but it wouldn't output either.

How do I load the audio in VirtualDub? I loaded the AVI but there's no option to load the audio.

In virtualdub click on audio and choose wav audio and browse for the wav and select that and then proceed to save as.
