  1. I want to convert an avi file to vcd and i am using nero and i was woundering when it says endocding dose that mean it is changeing the avi file over to vcd so that i can watch it on my dvd player.

    It's converting the mpeg-4 avi into mpeg-1 video, as well as creating the proper VCD file structure that your DVD player will recognize, assuming your player is VCD capable.

    It does , but using nero to encode is not reall a good way to do it.
    You should be looking to use something like TMPGenc for encoding the AVI to Mpeg1 and then use Nero to create a VCD using the Mpeg1 you created.
