I have 8 WMV2 files that I want to join into a single file. I am using Fx Video Converter but when I try and join the files it says that I need a licence to perform the selected operation.

When I view the file through WMP 9 I enter a username and password and the licence downloads and I can watch the file fine. But I can't do anything else with the files.

Can I remove a licence from a WMV2 file or is there a work around that will allow me to join the files together ?

Sorry but if you read the rules you would see that the topic you're discussing is not allowed on the forum. The license is there for a reason. They don't want you messing with the files. Sorry no one here will give you any help in removing the license.

Not true per se'. The whole site is about removing DRM. Stoik is one option. You can screen capture while it plays (you need a LOT of drive space). There's anoterh way, but I can't remember the dam name of the software. You have to build a filter chain, then you play the file in WMP9 and get the license validated in the sytem.

All I want to do is join the files together so they play as 1 long file rather than 8 clips.

Sorry, but I was unaware that this practise would be "illegal"

Damn This question must get asked just about every day. The standard answer should be posted on the main page

The agreement with WMV files is that you are (often) only allowed to view it X number of times, and that's it. No editing, merging, etc. With DVD ripping, you are exercising Fair Use by making a backup. There is pretty much NO Fair Use with the WMV format.

They have recently been providing movies at different AB websites. The movies are not that great ... audio is tinning and not natural.

I too have to use my user name and password to watch them. But after I have done the certification the videos play fine. But it is a pain in the butt to watch them only on WM 9. And the ability to join them as one continous file is a bummer.

There was a few programs that did provide the help but they no longer work. MS WMP 9 did a upgrade.

Working solution for me ... I have the ATI AIW 7500 video card and I output the video to my Panasonic DMR E50S ... and record the files as they're being played.

I record the movie to DVD-RAM and then use Womble mpg-vcr to edit out the small little gaps ... when it jumps to the next video.
