help please

i've got a problem..i download movies and watch them on the pc,everything is fine.but as soon as i put it onto dvd -/+ disc the movie picture is fine but half way through the movie the sound delays a second.what can be causing this?
they way i put them onto dvd is.....downloaded in avi format,use MainConcept MPEG Encoder to convert it into dvd quality then use TMPGEnc DVD Author to make the vob files etc.... then finally use dvd shrink to fit and to burn onto dvd discs
please help

For starters, let it be known that if we are talking about copyrighted movies that you are downloading, talking about them here is a no-no.

I would assume that you are downloading files that have been joined by someone else, who found them in two parts and fooked up the joining process. All you could do is edit the files and chop out the frames where the pause occurs. You will most likely lose quality though because you will have to re-encode.
