That is what I have: a marriage VHS tape somehow recorded that, in my SONY VCR I can hear the original soundtrack (screams, laughts, etc) when played in HI-FI mode, an another soundtrack (edited, background music) when played in NORMAL mode... so, there are 2 audio streams in it... I dont know if audio in left is differente from right or there is something more complicated in it... I never saw such kind of tape before...

What I want: convert that VHS (with both audio streams) to MPEG (dvd compliant) and burn it in DVD-R media. I will create a simple menu in Ulead DVD MovieFactory in order to choose one number to play the video with original (non-edited) audio, an another number to play the the same video with the edited audio...

the movie is 2 hours long so I can put it only once in DVD-R media...

The software I have is Virtualdub, TMPGEnc, Ulead DVDMovieFactory.

I also have DVD XPress hardware and ATI AIW128Pro video card.

Do anyone have a tip or idea how I start that project using the softs and hardware I have?

    Thanks in advance. From Brazil.

  2. It's funny, but I've thinking about it and I think it can be done by capturing second track at second time or by setting up VCR to play one track on each channel. The problem of second choice is you will lose stereo sound of hi-fi track.
    You can try this.
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tenta aí e me fala o que vc achou.

the problem is: the second VHS capture maybe not exactly as the first one, because of VCR delay when pulling the play button, human being time delay error, differences from the beggining of tape in both tries after rewinding, etc...

  4. That's true, but he can adjust syncronism after. I've done a similar adjustment before.
