What the hell is going on with verbatim dvd discs? I can see having a high price(somebody has to be the highest), but they are wayyyyyyyy beyond anyone else. Are their discs made of virgin mentural dye or something?
I cant believe they actually sell their stuff at these prices, but since they keep advertising them I guess they do.
Maybe Warren Buffet and Bill Gates by their stuff.

We have been using Verbatims at work for video stuff for the past few months.
The first batch of Verbatims we got was Ricohjpn media (Class-2 media). However, the last two batches we got were MCC (Mitsubishi) which is top-notch stuff. -
Yea, I dont doubt they are top notch, but their prices are 3 times as high as the next lowest one. Just Incredable

I recently bought Verbatim 4x DVD+R 25 pack for a little more than $1 a disk. That's not much more than others is it? They're RICOHJPN.

Anytime I do a test burn, it's with a Verbatim DVD+RW, the Mitsubishi Chemical Corp., made in Singapore ones. First class. Believe it or not, I got a 10-pack some time ago at Sam's Club for, hmm, a little more than 2 bucks each, something like that. Did they raise prices recently, or does this not pertain to rewritables?
Pull! Bang! Darn! -
Actually they probably don't sell all that many at full price. Almost all the major brands are priced "suggested retail" at $2 a disc. Best Buy's normal price for Verbatim is $45 for 25, Compusa's price for TDK is $30 for 15, BUT both have had recent 40% off sales and 2 weeks ago Best Buy was selling TDK at buy-one-get-one-free. Last week it was Office Depot on Maxell 4X (buy one get one free). I've certainly bought a lot of Verbatim for $1 - $1.25. I don't think Verbatim is any different than the others. As the man said, "No one pays retail".I cant believe they actually sell their stuff at these prices, but since they keep advertising them I guess they do.
