  1. Hi,
When I capture a screen shot from PowerDVD, the resolution is very low and there is no option to set a high-res capture. Is there any player or program to take a screen shot in high-res about 300 dpi? I want to take a screen shot from the movies to create and print my own cover art.

    Thanks.

You cannot get more resolution than the source.

  3. Max DVD resolution is 720x576 (480 for NTSC). There's not much PowerDVD or any other tool can do about it.

But it's not so much the resolution. It's a lossy-compressed motion picture you're trying to get a still image from. You can't expect very good quality from that.

Try to get a still from an I picture. That should give you slightly better image. I'm not 100% certain but I think when you reverse by frame it moves to an I picture.

  4. Thanks, I think I figure it out now. After capturing the image from PowerDVD, I use Photoshop to save the image at 300 dpi, that way I would have a better print.

  5. This is not going to give you a better print. You can over sample all you like but the picture quality is not going to improve.
