Well thanks for all of your suggestions and help but as it turned out the
root of my problem was with my Sygate Personal Firewall software. Turns
out it was just doing it's job by not allowing traffic to flow through it either
way which was causing my problems. Now I don't feel quite as safe
though but maybe I am since I still have the Windows XP firewall and my router's hardware firewall. What do you think, am I still pretty safe????

I have the same problem with the freeware version of ZoneAlarm.

Yeah well as much as I liked having that software I am just going to stop using it since I can't have it taking the length of time it did just to transfer a couple files between computers. :P
