  1. I have VCD's
I have properly sent them through VCDGEAR - fix
I reencoded them even, using TMPGenc, with MPEG1 settings, and with, on one try, a 1:1 VGA ratio, full Screen, and another try, a 4:3 NTSC ratio. When the resulting files are run through SVCD2DVD, they are different window sizes on a computer, but they are the same oversized video on a hardware DVD player for a Television. What settings should I use, specifically, when I reecnode a VCD (to get rid of any errors), under TMPGenc? Should I use VBR or CBR (i have been keeping CBR, the default setting). Anything else?

    I am out of ideas.

What can I do to make sure that my resulting DVD's fit on a TV screen? I have tried it on two TV's, with the same results. The TV"s are average, no special plasmas or flat screens here, but they are somewhat new (a few years old Panasonic and Daewoo)

I appreciate any and all help. Thanks!

  2. By how much are they too big. If it is only a few % on each edge, then that is caused by TV overscan and is perfectly normal.

    Search Comp PM
In TMPGEnc--filter setting, CK Clip Frame, arrange setting, then select
    Center (keep aspect ratio)

    This has worked for me

    Good luck
