  1. What is the difference between DVD-Rom (UDF/ISO) and DVD-Video when burning DVDs with Nero? Which one should be used and why?

  2. Depends on what you're burning. If you're burning a movie you want to play in your dvd burner, use DVD-video. All it does is add a Video_ts and Audio_ts folder to the disk so the player recognizes it as a movie.

If you're burning random files, go with ISO or UDF.
UDF = Compatible with Macs and PC's.
ISO = Compatible with older computers and OS's (like windows 95) but no mac

  3. Burning movies to be played in stand alone DVD players and computer DVD drives. Can one format be used for both computer and players?

  4. For movies, just use DVD-Video. It'll work on both standalone players and computer dvd drives. Just make sure you drag the movie files in to the video_ts folder!

  5. Thank you for the information. I have been burning using DVD-Rom (UDF/ISO)? What would one use DVD-Rom (UDF/ISO) for?

  6. What would one use DVD-Rom (UDF/ISO) for?
For computer data files. Let's say you want to back up a few large files from your hard drive for safekeeping...you'd use udf/iso format. It's for computer-to-computer, whereas DVD-Video is for computer-to-dvd player (or computer)
