  1. trying to capture an avi with a particular movie made with my camera (ati aiw 12, when the movie reaches a certain point (always the same) the video of the captured file begins to loop while the audio keeps going on, like when i try to capture a dvd, but this is a home shooting! the strange thing is that this happens only in two specific moments of the movie, all the rest (~ 40 min.) is ok.
i've tried to copy the vhs onto another tape but the problem persists.
can anyone guess what's the problem?
    thanks.

  2. Have you shoot another tape with your recorder - It seems thing the problem is either the Tape or the Camera.

  3. yes i did, this is the first time this kind of things happens (well i'm a newbie ...), as i said i even tried to transfer all into a new tape, it seems like there's something (and this is the question: what?) that sounds "strange" to media center and makes it loops in that certain point, even if in the tv window everything goes on well.

  4. You are trying to capture copyrighted material. If you are trying to copy non-copyrighted material, try lower the capture setting (image size).

I've had this same problem. In my case it was cured by downloading and installing the latest supported AIW-128 driver from the ATI web site (made available a week or two ago).

    However...

Although captures now work fine, I can no longer play back the video portions of MPEG2 clips using ATI File Player, a shame since that was previously my best MPEG2 player (maintained good audio sync, handled interlaced video correctly etc).

I've reported this to ATI, but got no response: what a surprise...
