  1. What are the best settings? Mpeg1, Mpeg2?

    I got a 31 minute video and I want to get it on a 700MB CD using the best bitrate possible :-*

  2. You’re going to have to provide more information with what you want to do with the file. Such as are you wanting to make a VCD or SVCD?? if so then there is required bitrate for these formats.

    Best quality is SVCD. You can use the Max bitrate for SVCD, since that will fit about 40 minutes per disk (amazing, it's exactly 2x VCD :P ).

    For a 31 min clip, you need one (1) 650MB CDR.
    You encode to SVCD and you use for the video CBR at 2520kb/s and 224kb/s for audio.

    An alternative, also could be CVD. Do exactly the same as SVCD (use the same settings) but set the framesize to 352 x 576/480 (SVCD is 480 x 576/480).
