Using IRDA WinFast Remote with other software?

Hello. I was wondering if anyone knew of any software that will allow me to use my remote that came with my WinFast TV2000XP Expert tv tuner\capture card. I've found several programs, such as PC Remote, but they can only use remotes connected to serial ports.

What I want to be able to do is be able to, for example, control Windows Media Player (play, pause, stop, etc) with my WinFast remote (it's IRDA). Also, if it would be possible to do other things, such as emulate mouse movement and keyboard buttons. Or maybe there's a plugin for Windows Media Player that will allow me to do this?

If anyone knows of how I could do this, that would be of great help. Thanks.

I do not know but I use IRDA in my JOb for Industrial control. You shall be aware that MS drop support for IRDA in winXP and Windows 2000, and then enable it again after SP3, just a comment in case you have a problem.
