  1. Just recently I bought a DVD Burner and apart of the features aside from burning dvdr/dvdrw/etc, it can play DVD'S. It came with software and I seen InterVideo WinDVD on there but my friend told me to try PowerDVD. So I installed powerdvd, I popped in my dvd into the dvd burner drive and Powerdvd came up saying 2 drives were found because I have a cdrw drive installed also, and it said Powerdvd will use DVD-RW Drive(D So I selected ok, I waited a few minutes and when I clicked the program it said not responding. So I uninstalled it and tried windvd and that worked fine. Anybody know what the problem with powerdvd can be?.

ello. firstly what version of powerdvd hve you got? and what are your system specs?

i have used powerdvd v3 v4 v5. i was using powerdvd v4 and it wored fine then i upgraded my pc to a p4 2.8 ht and it would no longer play dvd no mater what i tried but other software players like windvd played them fine. then i upgraded to version 5 and it works fine. my guess is it is something in v4 messing with p4 hyperthreading or something in your system.

    hope this helps.

A program locking up on its first execution is nothing to worry about. If it continually locks up after reboots etc. then you have a problem.
    If in doubt, Google it.

  5. The 56.xx nvidia drivers messed up my dvd playback. I went back to the 53.xx drivers and all is fine.
