I havent recieved much help in this topic. i recieved a private about holding the audio button for 3 sec. to adjust the audio input level and it didnt work. there is nothin in the manual about this feature and is the only reason i bought this or i would have went for the e80. are ther any settings i have to change for this feature to work? i quote Humphry Bogart in an old Bugs Bunny cartoon, "could you help out a fellow american whos down on his luck?" some of you might remember that. Please help, dont b hatin.

No more information from me but I've downloaded the american manual to see the differences between mine (european) and yours.
I was surprised that there are much differences between the two versions.
For example:
the european model don't have any menus to configure the video filters.
No menu for automatic shutdown after 1 or 2 hours.
No menus for progressive scan...
No menus for black level...
No components output (just svhs - Y/C ).
But a menu for audio level for europeans models and no words about it in american version.
I think that it's not nice from panasonic because with internet, we can have a lot of informations about a recorder that can be not true because of the differences between european, american and japan versions.
shame to Panasonic for this.
