I have some movies in AVI format. They are Xvid coded. The problem is to burn these on a DVD-R so I can play them in a DVD-player. When I use the DVD PAL guide in TMPGenc all works really fine until the last finish. When I am going to burn the DVD, it tells me that the project is about 156% big, so it wont fit on a single DVD. I try to change the bitrate but I cant change it beneat 3000 kb/s. Maybe I cant use the wizard guide, But then maybe someone smartie can help me how to solve the problem??

I look forward for a brilliant answer...

  2. What is the actual size of the project and what authoring software are you using?

  3. Have u tried using the bitrate calculator to tell you what bitrate to encode in to fit it to a DVD?

  4. You could squash it down with DVDShrink, and see if that's acceptable. Or re-encode at 352x576 and reauthor/burn, which is probably a better solution.
    Pull! Bang! Darn!

Rule no 1 - don't use the project wizard unless you have created custom templates that are already unlocked. Open TMPGEnc, Open your video/audio files, load the template you want to use, then load the unlock template. Now you can customise anything you want, such as bitrate. Use the calculator here and input the total running time of all of the clips you wish to place on 1 DVD. Set TMPGEnc to these settings, including the audio.
    If in doubt, Google it.
