i used mactheripper to backup the dvd to my hard drive...then used toast 6 to burn it to dvd-r...
it ran smoothly when burning... but everytime when toast verifies the dvd-r, it shows the message "the sector.....is unreadable... verification failed"... i tried to play the dvd-r it burns in my other three dvd players (two on PC, one is the regular dvd player)... it seems working well... anyone got this kind of problem? is that the bad quility dvd-r?? or anything else? please let me know... thanks very much...

It's the media you're using. Just burn it again, and it should work (unless that one is bad too). There are bad batches of DVD-R discs, where a whole spindle (or a good chunk of it) will not burn correctly, especially with some of the crappier brands. I've had extremely good luck, for both successful burning and player compatibility with Ritek media, and they're priced very competitively.
I like systems, their application excepted. (George Sand, translated from French), "J'aime beaucoup les systèmes, le cas d'application excepté."
