  1. Hey everyone.. I'm kind of new to converting video files to DVD... I know how to put them on a disc and everything, the only problem I seem to be having is that the way I am doing it, the disc can only hold about 100 minutes of footage. Is there any way I could condense that? I am using TMPGEnc and DVDShrink... I know about using DVD shrink, but I don't want to lose the quality... Any thoughts? THanks for your help.

Lower the video bitrate in TMPGEnc.

If you are currently using LPCM (uncompressed audio) consider switching to MPEG-II or AC3 instead, that will save you a significant amount of space (space you can use for more video), but MPEG-II may not play on your DVD player, you should test first. TMPGEnc does MPEG-II natively, and there are tools like BeSweet for AC3.

If you're only getting 100mins worth of space, you must be using upwards of 5-6000 for a bitrate? If you want more space, lower that number.

Or, use DVDShrink when it's completed.

Well, in my book, you've already exceeded the max for uncompressed video. Any more and youo'll begin to loose quality although shrink will do a very good job preserving quality if you use deep analisys.
No DVD can withstand the power of DVDShrink along with AnyDVD!

errrrrr, yes it will. Commercial DVDs are authored MPEG-II. Burnt DVDs might not play on his DVD player.
    If in doubt, Google it.

    I misunderstood.

But be told, MP2 plays on PAL DVD Players no worries.
    If in doubt, Google it.
