I am completely new to encoding files and would appreciate some help.
I am trying to convert what I think are mpeg 1 files to a mpeg 2 ( see Gspot results) to use with DVD Lab using TMPGEnc DVD Source Creator. Whenever I import the video file into TMPGEnc it recognises it as only 0min 3.5secs long ( File info - 352x 240 29.97fps 0min . 35secs) although when I play the file on Windows Media Player runs for the full 24 mins.
I have checked the file with G Spot with the following result:-
DirectShow claims to be able to play the file. The following combination of filters were used:
{D:\New Folder\Amber.mpg} (Source)
{MPEG-I Stream Splitter} (Splitter)
{MPEG Video Decoder} (Video Decoder)
{Video Renderer} (Video Renderer)
{MPEG Audio Decoder} (Audio Decoder)
{Default DirectSound Device} (Audio Renderer)
I tried converting the file using Easy X Video Convertor although they show the files as .mpg (is there any diference in .mpg and .mpeg1)and was able to do this successfuly although the quality was very bad.
I have successfully converted AVI files with TMPGEnc but am stuck when I try to convert the mpeg ones.
Hope someone can help
